freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “The Sher Institute for Reproductive Medicine (SIRM) announced the release of a new song and video inspired by and dedicated to couples dealing with infertility. The song, entitled 'I Believe,' was co-written and produced by Darren Sher, son of SIRM Founder and Executive Director Geoffrey Sher, MD.”

A R T I C L E:

The Sher Institute for Reproductive Medicine (SIRM) announced the release of a new song and video inspired by and dedicated to couples dealing with infertility. The song, entitled "I Believe," was co-written and produced by Darren Sher, son of SIRM Founder and Executive Director Geoffrey Sher, MD.

Dr. Sher has been treating infertility patients for almost three decades. His son Darren grew up watching him dedicate his life to helping couples reach their dream of parenthood. Now an accomplished musician and producer, Darren recognized the inherent compelling drama in the patients' experiences and discussed with his father the concept of a theme song that would serve as both a tribute and an inspiration to infertile couples everywhere.

"I Believe," sung by musicians Steve Carlson (who co-wrote the song with Darren) and Rosalee (Darren's wife), poetically articulates the hopes and dreams of infertility patients as well as their courage and determination. It was written to honor those that have worked so hard to build a family. The video features real infertility patients and their families.

"Through the years I would often come home and discuss with my son Darren the personal struggles I witnessed. He understands the emotions involved with Infertility and has also seen the resulting happiness these families achieve through treatments," said Dr. Sher. "But, the lyrics are applicable to any life situation - it is a truly moving song and our patients have expressed that it captures the essence of the journey."

The video can be viewed at www.haveababy.com/news-menu/230 .

The song "I Believe" can be downloaded at http://www.thesoundparlor.com/ . Steve Carlson and Rosalee are established musicians who dedicated their time and talents to the project.

Northern California Super Lawyers selects attorneys each year for recognition through a rigorous nomination process that includes peer review by practice area and independent research on candidates. VLP's practice reaches across multiple industry sectors, including high tech, financing and venture capital, life sciences, clean tech, tax and real estate, and represents clients that vary in size from early-stage startups to Fortune 500 companies. VLP has grown and is thriving because their clients recognize the superior value and experience the firm provides. VLP is dedicated to proving that expensive buildings don't provide great service - great people do.

Sign of Jobs Turnaround? One Company Seeks to Fill 300 New Positions

Author: LTC Financial Partners LLC
Dateline: Kirkland, Washington (KIRKLAND, Wash.)  | Thu, 30 Sep 2010

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “Stagnant economy? Jobs hard to come by? If you're an employer, jobs too risky to create? One company - LTC Financial Partners LLC (LTCFP) - isn't buying in to the doom and gloom. They're bucking the trend with bullish expansion plans. 'We need 300 new people now, in all parts of the country,' says Denise Gott, LTCFP's Chairman of the Board.”

A R T I C L E:

Stagnant economy? Jobs hard to come by? If you're an employer, jobs too risky to create? One company - LTC Financial Partners LLC (LTCFP) - isn't buying in to the doom and gloom. They're bucking the trend with bullish expansion plans. "We need 300 new people now, in all parts of the country," says Denise Gott, LTCFP's Chairman of the Board. That's a 60% increase over their current size of about 500 agents and support staff.

What gives them the confidence to expand so aggressively? "It's not the economy," says Jonas Roeser, LTCFP's Senior Vice President of Marketing & Operations. "It's our mindset and how we address the needs out there." He and Gott offer the following advice to those in a position to create jobs, and those seeking jobs.

ADVICE TO EXECUTIVES AND ENTREPRENEURS: Focus on areas of potential growth. LTCFP's chosen industry, long term care insurance, has less than 10% market penetration. "Most of the business is untapped, just waiting for us," says Gott. "And as millions of baby boomers approach retirement, the market is getting even bigger." For any company, the surest way to create new jobs fast, she asserts, is to redirect the business in an explosive direction, such as green technology or preventive health care.

ADVICE TO JOB SEEKERS: Move beyond your comfort zone into new areas of opportunity. A large number of LTCFP's current agents came from diverse occupations such as nursing, finance, education, and small business management. "Some were homemakers who were attracted to the field because they had to care for an incapacitated loved one," says Roeser. "They wanted to help others avoid the stress and financial hardship they went through. The point is, anyone can make a great LTC agent no matter what they did before."

In today's economy, all job seekers should be prepared to take a similar leap, he says. "Go to where the opportunities are. Spread your wings and fly." Most LTCFP agents aspire to six-figure incomes, and several have already achieved it. And in the relatively short time since LTCFP was founded, a few have already built books of business of $1 million to $2 million or more.

A new video on YouTube, featuring Gott and Roeser, describes the opportunity in long term care insurance marketing and what it takes to be successful: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kS-PJNP8uKM .

More information is available at http://web.ltcfp.com/ltcfp/careercenter.aspx .

LTCFP is one of the nation's most experienced long term care insurance agencies. For three years in a row - 2008, 2009 and 2010 - the company has been named one of America's 5,000 fastest-growing companies by Inc. Magazine.

Sher Institute to Donate Free IVF Cycles at N.J. Fertility Seminars

Author: Sher Institute for Reproductive Medicine
Dateline: Bedminster, New Jersey (BEDMINSTER, N.J.)  | Thu, 30 Sep 2010

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “Sher Institute for Reproductive Medicine (SIRM) will be donating free In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) to two couples at upcoming seminars in Branchburg and Lehigh Valley. The initiative reflects Sher Institute's desire to help patients who are in need of treatment but can't afford it during these tough economic times.”

A R T I C L E:

Sher Institute for Reproductive Medicine (SIRM) will be donating free In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) to two couples at upcoming seminars in Branchburg and Lehigh Valley. The initiative reflects Sher Institute's desire to help patients who are in need of treatment but can't afford it during these tough economic times.

"We have always been advocates for more universal coverage when it comes to infertility treatment," said Dr. Albert Peters, SIRM-New Jersey Medical Director. "Given the cost of treatment and the tough economic environment, it has been much harder for many couples to access IVF. This is our way of doing what we can to help a few of these couples."

One couple at each seminar will be awarded a free IVF cycle by random drawing. There is no charge to attend the seminars, but to be eligible to win, the individual/couple must be present at the seminar and have a medical diagnosis indicating IVF as a recommended course of treatment. The drawings will be held during the seminars on October 12th in Phillipsburg, NJ and October 14th in Branchburg, NJ.

On average, an IVF cycle costs about $10,000. This does not include any additional procedures, third-party services or medications.

For more information and online registration for the seminars, visit the Sher Institute Web site at www.haveababy.com .

For those in attendance who do not win the free cycle, the seminar affords them the opportunity to learn more about the field of reproductive medicine, the latest advancements and the range of treatment options available.

Helping patients gain access to treatment has long been a driving philosophy of the Sher Institutes. During the last three decades, they have donated hundreds of free cycles to patients and couples from all over the country.

About the Sher Institutes for Reproductive Medicine:

The Sher Institutes for Reproductive Medicine (SIRM(R)) is a national network of fertility clinics specializing in cutting-edge technology, personalized treatment and compassionate care. SIRM Founder Dr. Geoffrey Sher established the first private In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) program in the United States. Dr. Sher and his colleagues have been influential in the development of dozens of important breakthroughs in the field of reproductive care.

Veteran Programmer Launches CryptoFD for Flash Drive and Memory Device Protection

Author: Hodson's Software, LLC
Dateline: Houston, Texas (HOUSTON, Texas)  | Thu, 30 Sep 2010

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “Hodson's Software, LLC this week announced the launch of a brand new product - CryptoFD - designed to protect files on flash memory devices such as flash drives, SD cards, Micro-SD cards, compact flash cards and memory sticks.”

A R T I C L E:

Hodson's Software, LLC this week announced the launch of a brand new product - CryptoFD - designed to protect files on flash memory devices such as flash drives, SD cards, Micro-SD cards, compact flash cards and memory sticks.

Users may also install and register the full version of CryptoFD on up to three machines; an unregistered, decrypt only copy, may be used on flash memory devices.

So, whether traveling to give a business presentation or transferring files to a friend's computer, users can rest assured that their files are safe and well secured.

"There is no longer a need to limit use to expensive, 'protected' USB flash drives," says Howard Hodson, software developer. "With CryptoFD, people can now safely transport files on any type of memory-chip device."

CryptoFD does not allow recovery of any encrypted data without the correct password or password phrase. No one beside the user will be able to recover data. And, it will only work on the device that the data was encrypted to. It is designed to protect flash memory devices and does not work with fixed disk or USB hard disk drives.

Now, what if you want to decrypt files on a machine that does not have CryptoFD installed? If the machine runs Windows(R) XP SP3, Windows Vista or Windows 7, you can because the portable copy on the flash memory device provides this capability.

Hodson's Software also provides excellent customer service. A support page is provided for rapid customer response; and extensive help files for CryptoFD are available online. Users can also install their own copy of HELP.

The cost is $29.00, but a limited-time only (through January 3, 2011) discount of 25 percent is currently being offered. In addition, bulk discounts are also available.

For more information, visit: www.hodsonssoftwarellc.com .

About Hodson's Software:

Howard Hodson, a veteran programmer, has been writing code since 1969. He's worked on everything from IBM mainframes to PDAs. The idea for CryptoFD was born out of personal necessity. Hodson wrote a program to protect his flash drive files and he liked the end result. He quickly adapted it for the commercial market.

Hodson's Software works with PLIMUS - a hosted e-business platform for companies worldwide that helps to market, sell and distribute online digital goods and services, securely and confidently.

Starlight and Vivendi Introduce New Features to Starbright World, the Preeminent Online Social Network for Seriously Ill Teens

Author: Starlight Children's Foundation
Dateline: Los Angeles, California (LOS ANGELES, Calif.)  | Wed, 29 Sep 2010

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “Having a chronic or life-threatening medical condition makes it hard for teens to cope with the already difficult realities of being a teenager. Supporting a sibling with an illness can be daunting as well. That is why Starlight Children's Foundation created Starbright World, an online social network for sick teens and their teen-aged siblings.”

A R T I C L E:

Having a chronic or life-threatening medical condition makes it hard for teens to cope with the already difficult realities of being a teenager. Supporting a sibling with an illness can be daunting as well. That is why Starlight Children's Foundation created Starbright World (www.starbrightworld.org), an online social network for sick teens and their teen-aged siblings - to provide a community of support and a much-needed distraction from daily struggles.

Over the past two years, Vivendi has provided leadership gifts for the critical preproduction and production phases of the Starbright World(R) redesign, earning recognition as the signature sponsor of the site. Vivendi recently renewed its support of Starlight once again through another generous award. The latest gift will be used to introduce new and enhanced features on Starbright World to satisfy the ever-changing expectations of its young community and keep the site on par with other popular social networks.

Many teens living with serious illness are isolated-both physically and emotionally-and feel left behind by friends. Starbright World enables teens to connect, socialize and establish meaningful relationships with others who are struggling with similar issues. In late 2009, thanks to generous contributions through Vivendi's Create Joy Fund, Starlight unveiled its next generation of Starbright World, which brought the latest in social networking technology to the site. Starbright World members connect with each other via chat, take part in virtual contests and games, and express themselves through stories, photos, videos, e-cards and personal profiles.

"Vivendi is proud to be the signature sponsor of Starbright World as part of the company's commitment to supporting children and teens who struggle every day with life-altering medical conditions," said Flavie Lemarchand-Wood, Vivendi's director of communications in North America. "Since our involvement, Starbright World has increased its membership by an estimated 42%. The Starbright World community is an incredible example of how technology and heart can bring the digital generation together in innovative ways."

Pending enhancements to Starbright World include one-way video conferencing, webinar functionality, additional instant messaging capabilities and a music player. The grant will also support 20/7 live chat hosting and site moderation as well as marketing and outreach to promote awareness and member recruitment.

"We were so honored when Vivendi funded the rebuild of Starbright World," said Jane Van Stedum, Interim Executive Director at Starlight. "Membership on the site is at an all-time high. Our teens report they absolutely love the new features, which allow them to find others with similar challenges and express themselves in a safe and accepting environment. Vivendi has been instrumental in ensuring that Starbright World incorporates cutting edge technology and remains an engaging hotspot-and emotional lifeline-for seriously ill teens."

Since its debut in 1996, Starbright World has helped thousands of teens, ages 13-20, build on friendships, create new ones, and cope with their illnesses. "Research studies have demonstrated the very real benefits of Starbright World, which include a reduction in pain, anxiety, loneliness and withdrawn behavior, and an increased willingness to return for medical treatment," said Joseph Bush, Ph.D., associate dean for research, Fielding Graduate University's School of Psychology.

Visit www.starbrightworld.org to learn more about Starbright World and how to register. To keep the site safe, parental consent is required for membership, and the chat rooms are monitored at all times by trained, paid adult staff.

EASEUS Software today expanded their licensing offerings even further by adding a third product line. According to the company, software source code selling is a fast track to enter the lucrative data backup and security market. EASEUS Software is providing its highly-rated backup utility source code for sale so that more software developers can secure success in the next big wave - now licensees can acquire the perfect backup and recovery software direct from the developer.

Software source code selling is getting more and more popular, and it is well accepted by both start-ups and established companies. For start-ups, it takes time and energy to build one's own fame and brand. With software source code selling, they can enter a market as early as possible, grow market share and make more revenue. For established "grown" companies, software source code selling can facilitate the way to enter into a totally different field -- you do not need to develop all these utilities from scratch.

Software source code selling is offered all over the market. But as a pioneer in this field, EASEUS takes their source code buyers as partners instead of clients. EASEUS not only offers perfect source code selling, but also helps to do research beforehand, helps with marketing, can even help to provide technical support and services. To the point, EASEUS wants to develop relationships with its source code buyers instead of a one-time business transaction.

Todo Backup is a reliable and easy-to-use backup/restore freeware that was launched by EASEUS a few years ago, and has been warmly received by its users. "With the amount of electronic data being generated faster than ever, the backup solutions market is growing as explosively. We are providing for sale our backup software source code so that hopefully more users can enjoy the benefit, and more players can enter into this market and extend their product line," said Mr. Liu of EASEUS.

He also said, "We welcome all kinds of communications from other backup software source code selling players, since source code is our most unique intellectual property, we want to make the best use of it. We provide many other kinds of cooperation modes like rebranding, Software OEM, etcetera."

Homes in Livingston County at Risk for Mine Subsidence

Author: Illinois Mine Subsidence Insurance Fund
Dateline: Pontiac, Illinois (PONTIAC, Ill.)  | Wed, 29 Sep 2010

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “The risk of mine subsidence is present for many homeowners in Livingston County, and the Illinois Mine Subsidence Insurance Fund (IMSIF) has initiated a consumer education initiative to address the issue. Mine subsidence occurs in an abandoned mine when a mine roof or pillar collapses, causing the ground above to sink or subside.”

A R T I C L E:

The risk of mine subsidence is present for many homeowners in Livingston County, and the Illinois Mine Subsidence Insurance Fund (IMSIF) has initiated a consumer education initiative to address the issue. Mine subsidence occurs in an abandoned mine when a mine roof or pillar collapses, causing the ground above to sink or subside. Homes built in close proximity to these mines are subject to foundation or structural damage, which may cost thousands of dollars to repair. IMSIF hopes to raise consumer awareness of both the risk of mine subsidence and the availability of insurance through primary carriers.

IMSIF is also encouraging the use of mine maps, compiled and digitally reproduced by the Illinois State Geological Survey (ISGS), to determine if a specific location is at risk for mine subsidence. A property need not be directly over a mine to be affected by mine subsidence. The maps can be accessed from a link on the IMSIF Web site at www.imsif.com .

According to ISGS estimates, 330,000 housing units in Illinois are in close proximity to mines and have possible exposure to mine subsidence. In Livingston County, an estimated 1,736 housing units have possible exposure to mine subsidence. Most of the exposure is in the Pontiac and Fairbury areas.

Mine subsidence insurance coverage is excluded from traditional homeowner policies, but Illinois consumers can have the coverage added to their existing property policy. There are 34 "Mandatory" counties in Illinois wherein coverage is automatically included in property policies, but Livingston County is not designated as Mandatory. Therefore, homeowners in Livingston County must request the additional coverage by contacting their insurance agent or company. The cost of mine subsidence coverage is the same in all counties, and is based on the amount of insurance purchased. For example, the annual premium for mine subsidence coverage on a home insured for $150,000 is $65. The annual premium on a home insured for $350,000 is $126.

Although IMSIF does not sell mine subsidence insurance, it was created in 1979 by Illinois legislators to provide reinsurance to companies affording this coverage. The Fund also conducts geotechnical investigations for mine subsidence claims, and supports mine subsidence research and education. Homeowners wishing to purchase mine subsidence insurance should contact their own insurance agent or company. For more information on mine subsidence or the Illinois Mine Subsidence Insurance Fund, contact Kathy Moran at 800-433-6743, ext. 261.
