Incident Triggers Investigation as to Whether Patient Information May Have Been Improperly Accessed

Author: The Surgeons of Lake County, LLC
Dateline: Libertyville, Illniois (LIBERTYVILLE, Ill.)  | Fri, 20 Jul 2012

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “The Surgeons of Lake County, LLC ('Surgeons') announced today that an unauthorized user had gained access to - and encrypted - their server in an attempt to force payment from Surgeons in exchange for the password needed to regain access to the server.”

A R T I C L E:

The Surgeons of Lake County, LLC ("Surgeons") announced today that an unauthorized user had gained access to - and encrypted - their server in an attempt to force payment from Surgeons in exchange for the password needed to regain access to the server.

Surgeons learned of the incident on June 25, 2012, when it discovered that an unauthorized user had gained remote access to a server containing Surgeons' corporate email and electronic medical records. The unauthorized user posted a message on the server stating that the contents of the server had been encrypted and could only be accessed with a password that would only be supplied if Surgeons made the demanded payment. Upon receiving the demand, the server was turned off, and has not been turned back on.

Surgeons officials immediately contacted law enforcement and began an investigation of the incident. In the wake of this incident, Surgeons is undertaking additional measures to strengthen and enhance its protocols to ensure the security of patient records.

"Safeguarding every patient's personal information is a top priority at The Surgeons of Lake County," said Scott C. Otto, M.D., President of The Surgeons of Lake County, LLC. "We are devoting significant people and technological resources to help protect patient confidentiality."

Surgeons believes that the intention of the unauthorized access was to extort payment from Surgeons, not to take patient information, and Surgeons is not aware of any reports that the information contained on the server has been misused as a result of this incident.

Still, the unauthorized user had the ability to access names, addresses, Social Security numbers, credit card numbers, and certain medical information; and, as a result, Surgeons began mailing notification letters today to individuals who may have been affected. Surgeons is offering them one year of free credit monitoring services, as well as call center support.

If you believe that you have been affected, please call this toll-free number 1-855-755-8479, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Eastern Time), and enter the reference code 7522071312 when prompted.

Remo Recover for Android: Remo’s New Android Data Recovery Application Launched

Author: Remo Software
Dateline: Mountain View, California (MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.)  | Thu, 19 Jul 2012

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “Remo Software has announced the launch of Remo Recover for Android, a new application built to recover deleted files for smart phones running on Android. With this launch, the company has achieved another milestone, in its long and distinguished career as a utility management developer.”

A R T I C L E:

Remo Software has announced the launch of Remo Recover for Android, a new application built to recover deleted files for smart phones running on Android. With this launch, the company has achieved another milestone, in its long and distinguished career as a utility management developer.

"With the advent of Android, devices like smart phones have become less of a phone and more of a multi-tasking gadget. So, disasters in the form of data loss are waiting to happen," said Omer Faiyaz, CEO of Remo Software.

"As Android is all set to take over the mobile operating system, there is a pressing need for an advanced data recovery application, to keep pace with today's new age technology. Our application is specifically designed to meet the market needs," he added.

Equipped with cutting edge features, Remo Recover for Android comes as a first-of-a-kind application in the market for Android data recovery. The software is programmed to retrieve files after scanning the internal and external phone memory areas of the phone. Apart from document and media files, it can also recover Android application package files (.apk) - a file format used to install applications onto Android operating system.

Another distinguishing feature of this software is its ability to create SD card replica image files to perform recovery at a later stage. With the help of this feature, a user can stave off the recovery process and continue using the card without the fear of overwriting the deleted or lost files. Recovering lost files from improperly mounted SD cards (cards with corrupt file system) has also been turned into a possibility. The user is also provided with an option to save the recovery session to avoid the time consuming process of re-scanning.

Remo Recover for Android is available at the official Remo Software Website. For more information, please visit http://www.remosoftware.com/ .

About Remo Software Private Limited:

Remo Software specializes in developing system utility software for Windows and Macintosh. The company's product portfolio includes data recovery, file repair and data erasing applications. Hollywood Meets Nashville as Jane Bach, Sandra Piller, Kelly Fitzgerald and Joey Sykes Perform a Songwriter’s Round at Genghis Cohen

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — The intimate setting of Hollywood’s Genghis Cohen is an ideal place to enjoy the lyrics and melodies of terrific songs and this will be especially true on Tuesday night, July 24, as the club hosts a Nashville-style songwriter’s round. This special event will feature Shady Hill Records artists Jane Bach and Sandra Piller (www.shadyhillrecords.com) as they appear with noted performers Kelly Fitzgerald and Joey Sykes.

Leading the evening will be Jane Bach, well-known for writing one of Reba McEntire’s biggest hit songs as well as penning hits for Jo Dee Messina, Ray Price and others. A frequent performer at writer’s rounds in cities around the country, Bach will be the host as well as one of the singers. “A writer’s round program is a great way to get up close and personal with the writers and their material,” Bach notes.

“This will be an evening where we celebrate the joy of songs,” says Piller, who will be performing numbers from her latest full album, “Days Like These,” and her new 6-song EP, “Love Goes On” which is dedicated to her late husband, Michael.

Appearing with Piller and Bach will be singer-songwriter Kelly Fitzgerald and Joey Sykes. Fitzgerald has toured all over the world as a solo and ensemble performer, sharing the stage with artists such as Shelby Lynne, Nanci Griffith, Vonda Shepard, Cheap Trick, Eddie Money, the Gin Blossoms and many others. Sykes was in Meredith Brooks’ band and as a solo artist has shared the stage with Don Henley, Bryan Adams, and John Mellencamp.

Bach is a strong supporter of the Nashville songwriter-in-the-round format. “There’s nothing quite like it,” she states. “And you never know when you’ll be hearing a song that will become the next big hit,” Bach adds. The Genghis Cohen event will follow the classic format of the round, where each songwriter plays one of their songs, followed by the next writer, and the next, and so on. They can join in with each other, add harmonies, contribute a guitar riff, perform a little percussion, or just listen along with the audience.

Genghis Cohen is located at 740 N. Fairfax Ave., Hollywood, CA 90046. Phone: (323) 653-0640. The club is just North of Melrose Blvd. and street parking is available. There is an $8 dollar cover. Showtime is 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. There is a full bar and restaurant.

SpaceX Utilizes Tiger-Tight Corp’s Friction Washer Technology for Its First Mission to The International Space Station

Author: Tiger-Tight Corp
Dateline: Staten Island, New York (STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.)  | Wed, 18 Jul 2012

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “TIGER-TIGHT CORP., a subsidiary of Precision Aerospace Components, Inc. (PINK:PAOS), had its proprietary friction washer technology used by SpaceX (Space Exploration Technologies) on the Dragon spacecraft launched atop a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida on May 22, 2012.”

A R T I C L E:

TIGER-TIGHT CORP., a subsidiary of Precision Aerospace Components, Inc. (PINK:PAOS), had its proprietary friction washer technology used by SpaceX (Space Exploration Technologies) on the Dragon spacecraft launched atop a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida on May 22, 2012.

The TIGER-TIGHT technology operates on a micro-topographic scale. Industrial diamonds embedded in an electro-less nickel matrix penetrate and interlock with the mating surfaces to create an extremely high retaining force and prevent loosening under vibration and shock. (*See the Diamond Matrix Graphic below.)

Because the interaction is at the micro level, there is no critical damage to the affected surfaces.

Tiger-tight washers and shims promote safe, effective joints under static and dynamic load conditions by resisting loosening from external transverse loads and/or distributing the joint pre-load.

Tests conducted on a Junker Vibration Test Rig, designed to impart transverse cyclic loads on a fastener joint, show Tiger-tight outperforms all other competitors tested.

About Precision Aerospace Components, Inc.:

Precision Aerospace Components, Inc. (OTCBB:PAOS / PINK:PAOS) is a provider of quality aerospace and industrial components. Precision is building a leading component, fabrication and service business. Management is growing the company through a combination of product line expansions and strategic acquisitions. Young Marines youth organization announces the Enrique ‘Kiki’ Camarena Division Awards program with DEA

Author: Young Marines
Dateline: Washington, District of Columbia (WASHINGTON, D.C.)  | Wed, 18 Jul 2012

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “The Young Marines youth organization and the Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) Demand Reduction Program have announced the Young Marines Enrique 'Kiki' Camarena Division Awards program. The awards program highlights the exceptional efforts the youth membership of the Young Marines are doing throughout the nation to educate other youths to live and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle in their communities through drug demand reduction efforts.”

A R T I C L E:

The Young Marines youth organization and the Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) Demand Reduction Program have announced the Young Marines Enrique "Kiki" Camarena Division Awards program. The awards program highlights the exceptional efforts the youth membership of the Young Marines are doing throughout the nation to educate other youths to live and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle in their communities through drug demand reduction efforts. Drug demand reduction is reducing the demand for drugs through education.

As both organizations worked on developing criteria for the award, Drug Demand Deduction Resource Officer for the Young Marines, Joe Lusignan and the leadership of the Young Marines national organization suggested the award be name the Enrique "Kiki" Camarena Division award in honor of DEA Special Agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena. Special Agent Camarena was a Marine and in whose honor Red Ribbon Week is celebrated in communities across the nation in October annually. Lusignan says building a relationship with the DEA is a "plus" for our program and the DEA's Demand Reduction Program.

"They are on the front line in our war against drugs and the scourge that influences all aspects of our society in a negative way," says Lusignan. "We respect that they take the fight to the enemy (drugs), and for them to encourage and work with our youth, validates what we do and the positive, drug free life we encourage our future leaders to live."

National Executive Director of the Young Marines, Mike Kessler says the Young Marines organization's recent work with the Drug Enforcement Administration has been a long time coming. "We are really excited. Our organization has embraced Red Ribbon Week for many years and were the first recipients of the Defense Department's Fulcrum Shield Award which recognizes the best youth programs for excellence in youth drug demand reduction," Kessler said. "We are pleased to continue to share our drug demand reduction education work with the DEA."

The DEA's Demand Reduction Program will select and present one Young Marines unit from each of the six divisions as recipients of the Enrique "Kiki" Camarena award on an annual basis for their hard work in the area of Drug Demand Education.

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is a law enforcement agency; however, they also work to reduce the demand for drugs through the agency's Demand Reduction Program. Through the Demand Reduction Program, they educate the public about the dangers associated with using illegal drugs and increase their awareness about emerging drug trends, such as synthetics like K2/Spice and bath salts.

Tammy Simpson, Drug Prevention Program Manager, Demand Reduction Section, Office of Congressional and Public Affairs says the Deputy Chief of DEA's Demand Reduction Programs Eric Akers was so impressed with how much education and awareness that the Young Marines were doing during Red Ribbon Week and throughout the year promoting the anti-drug message their office wanted to bring recognition to the Young Marines organization's good work.

"It is so gratifying to see the Young Marines involved in community efforts like planning their own regional training, or participating in DEA's National Take Back Day," says Simpson. "The Young Marines organization definitely stands out for spreading the anti-drug message and for the positive impact that they are having on their communities."

Simpson says the DEA's Demand Reduction Program's mission aligns with what the Young Marines units are doing nationwide to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. "We have to let our youth know how dangerous drugs are to their health and the best messenger for this is their peers. The Young Marines can get this message across in ways that adults can't - and they are the best role models for living healthy, happy, drug-free lives."

The DEA presented the first Young Marines Enrique "Kiki" Camarena Division Awards to the Shenandoah Valley (VA) and Tehama Valley (CA) units. The awards program will be expanded to all six Young Marines divisions in 2013.

About the Young Marines youth organization:

The Young Marines is a national non-profit 501c(3) youth education and service program for boys and girls ages 8 through completion of high school. The program focuses on teaching the values of leadership, teamwork and self-discipline so its members can live and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. The national organization is comprised of over 10,000 youths and 2,800 adult volunteers in nearly 300 units across the United States.

The Young Marines official website: http://www.YoungMarines.com/ . The organization's motto is, "Strengthening the lives of America's youth."

About the Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) Demand Reduction Program:

The mission of the Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) Demand Reduction Program is to support the agency's drug control mission by enhancing prevention efforts across the nation. DEA's Demand Reduction Program supports national efforts to reduce the demand for drugs by collaborating with federal, state and local governments, as well as prevention and treatment organizations, community coalitions, and youth serving organizations. In addition, through the Demand Reduction Program, DEA educates the public about the dangers associated with using illegal drugs and increases awareness about substance abuse trends. The program has two websites - one for parents/caregivers, and educators called www.getsmartaboutdrugs.com - and one for teens called www.justthinktwice.com - which are full of facts about drugs, resources, and information about where to find help.

But what about long-term care insurance, which covers in-home, nursing-home, and assisted-living care - expensive services scarcely addressed by regular insurance or Medicare? When the Supreme Court upheld The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), uncertainty about health insurance abated. But what about long-term care insurance, which covers in-home, nursing-home, and assisted-living care - expensive services scarcely addressed by regular insurance or Medicare? That issue remains as head-scratching as ever, according to LTC Financial Partners, LLC (LTCFP), one of America's most experienced long-term care insurance agencies.

So, what to do? "The best bet -- for any individual, family, company, or group - is to talk with an LTCI specialist about their particular situation," says Denise Gott, LTCFP's National Sales Manager. She recommends asking five key questions:

1. "Based on our health history, what are the chances any of us will ever need long-term care?"

2. "In our financial situation, is Medicaid a viable care option?"

3. "What are the pros and cons of relying on savings, life insurance, or reverse mortgages to pay for care?"

4. "In our case, following the court's decision, how do federal and state laws affect tax breaks or other LTC-related benefits?"

5. "Given all the facts about us, is LTC insurance the best bet, and what does it cost?"

The following state-certified agents, all LTCI specialists, are available for questions by phone:

PCM Field Services and Lake Forest Community Association to Help Family in Need

Author: Professional Community Management of California, Inc.
Dateline: Lake Forest, California (LAKE FOREST, Calif.)  | Tue, 17 Jul 2012

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “Professional Community Management of California, Inc. (PCM) announced today that its Field Services Division will assist the Lake Forest Community Association's Community Spirit Team to conduct free home repairs for a family that has experienced tragedy and is in need of help to stay in compliance with HOA rules.”

A R T I C L E:

Professional Community Management of California, Inc. (PCM) announced today that its Field Services Division will assist the Lake Forest Community Association's Community Spirit Team to conduct free home repairs for a family that has experienced tragedy and is in need of help to stay in compliance with HOA rules. On Friday, July 20, they will begin work on the home of Luann Johnson, a resident of Lake Forest who lives with her son, Colin, 23 and daughter, Taylor, 20.

For this homeowner trouble came in "threes." First came the devastating loss of her 25-year old son; a huge eucalyptus tree then crashed through her backyard fence; and third, Riley, her three year-old granddaughter was diagnosed with a rare form of melanoma. After dealing with all the end-of life costs for her son, and trying to arrange for health care for her granddaughter, Johnson was financially and emotionally unable to handle home repairs that put her in noncompliance with the association rules.

"When I spoke with Luann, her son's funeral expenses and her granddaughter's uninsured medical care had depleted her savings," said Kim Back, Community Relations Manager at Lake Forest Community Association. "Even though she was a proud, self-sufficient woman, she needed the good news that her neighbors and community management company were ready to step in, so she does not feel so alone on this journey."

As a private care nurse, Johnson visits patients throughout Orange County and Los Angeles. She has been a Lake Forest resident since 2001, where she raised her three children.

"It's ironic that the Lake Forest Community Spirit Team is now coming into my home and completing much needed repairs," she said. "My family and I are overwhelmed with gratitude. My son, Colin said to me, 'Mom, this is the kind of thing you see happen to other people on TV!'"

The Lake Forest Community Association's Community Spirit Team was formed in April 2012 to assist homeowners who received home repair correction notices from the Hearing Committee. Each case is determined by financial hardship and in June, the team completed their first project at the home of Patrice Munday.

"PCM takes such pride in the dedication and initiative taken by the Lake Forest Community Association and the on-site management team," said Donny Disbro, chief executive officer of PCM. "Each home owner is a member of the PCM family and we're here to take care of individuals like Luann who has had more than her share of tragedy."

The team has secured generous donations and sponsorships from the association board of directors, PCM Field Services, Home Depot Lake Forest, Park West Landscape, Waste Management, Behr Paints, Saddleback Signs, Cannata Construction, Drymaster Restoration, McGervey Painting, First Class Windows and the Lake Forest Garden Club.

Johnson gets emotional when she thinks of the Community Spirit Team preparing to start work on her home.

"My late son was the one who would come over and fix things," she said. "I know he's watching over me and smiling."
