SEATTLE, WA /Send2Press Newswire/ -- HSHotties.com (www.HSHotties.com) an online community for high school students, is promoting the first of its kind online competition for students to win a college scholarship of up to $20,000 just for being hot. Students submit their photos to judge and be judged by their peers in the hopes of being voted the Hottest High Schooler in America. High School teens may also interact with other students across the nation, win daily and monthly give-a-ways, build relationships and help support charitable organizations.

HSHotties.com recognizes the potential controversy surrounding teens placing their photos online, so teens are provided with information and safeguards to create a safer environment than many online destinations frequented by teens. Pictures and content are screened to ensure that inappropriate material is not posted. Personal contact information is protected and unavailable to visitors on the site. Teens can block contact with anyone they do not wish to interact with. The site is also linked to the website for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) to educate parents and teens about online safety.

"There are many scholarships available for academics, sports, or music, but not everyone fits into those categories," said Ronnie Bramsche, Founder of HSHotties.com. "We provide an attractive alternative to the rising costs of higher education. I'm certain we'll have some critics. However, I see little difference between our competition and more traditional teen pageants that glamorize and capitalize on the physical attractiveness of young people. I take that back. There may be one big difference. Do some pageants still have teens parading in front of millions of viewers in a bathing suit and high heels?"

Visitors to HSHotties.com can grade photos from A+ to F, generating a grade point average for each teen photo. Each year in late spring, Varsity Members with a GPA of 3.0 or better are placed in random head-to-head match ups called a Hot Off(tm). A month of voting gradually eliminates candidates until 32 male and 32 female contestants remain. Then the real competition begins. The 64 contestants match brains with beauty, vigorously campaigning to garner enough votes in the final round to win the ultimate popularity contest and up to $20,000 scholarship prize money.

HSHotties.com, a division of Nomobobo, Inc., is the first online competition for high school students to win a college scholarship of up to $20,000 based on their looks.

For Greater Northwest Medical Group The Future Is Now!

Author: Greater Northwest Medical Group, S.C.
Dateline: Mon, 14 Mar 2005

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “BUFFALO GROVE, IL /Send2Press Newswire/ -- Greater Northwest Medical Group, including eleven Internal Medicine and Family Practice physicians, treating patients at its Buffalo Grove, Arlington Heights, and Park Ridge offices, announces its transition from traditional paper medical charts to Electronic Medical Records (EMR).”

A R T I C L E:

BUFFALO GROVE, IL /Send2Press Newswire/ -- Greater Northwest Medical Group, including eleven Internal Medicine and Family Practice physicians, treating patients at its Buffalo Grove, Arlington Heights, and Park Ridge offices, announces its transition from traditional paper medical charts to Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

While many medical group practices agree that electronic medical records are the "wave of the future," few have yet taken that innovative step forward. The expense and internal operational changes are daunting to many medical groups. But the Greater Northwest Medical Group decided that the benefits to patients were well worth the commitment to EMR.

Patient safety is one of the major benefits. The move to EMR supports the position of the Institute of Medicine (IOM), a volunteer organization of national and international scientific experts dedicated to providing unbiased, scientifically balanced answers to difficult questions of national importance. IOM Committee Chair, Paul C. Tang, Chief Medical Information Officer, Palo Alto Medical Foundation, Palo Alto, California explains: "Improving patient safety starts with fundamental changes in information technology systems that support care. Electronic health records that allow care providers to gather, store, and use health information more efficiently could increase the effectiveness of care and greatly reduce errors and costs."

Despite the fact that building such an information system is easier said than done, Greater Northwest Medical Group has put this IOM theory into action. According to Practice Administrator, Michael Hartke, "The transition to Electronic Medical Records for a Practice of our size has been a formidable task, involving extensive investment in computer software and

ehardware, as well as intensive training for all levels of staff. But the benefits for our patients far outweigh our internal pain of the transition. Every office visit, medication prescribed, drug allergy notation, telephone message, diagnostic, hospital, and external specialist report is documented in typewritten form in the patient’s electronic medical record. This system eliminates any chance of misinterpreted handwriting. The EMR system also provides the patient’s primary physician - or any Greater Northwest Medical physician on call after hours - with immediate, password-protected secure computer access to the patient’s entire medical record. This gives our patients the assurance that no matter what time of day or night, treatment decisions are based on the physician’s complete knowledge of the patient’s medical history, regardless of the physical location of the physician at the time. As a result, the best medical care decisions can be made safely and quickly."

The first office to "go live" with the EMR system was the Buffalo Grove office at the end of 2004, with the Arlington Heights and other offices following suit in 2005.

For more information about Greater Northwest Medical Group’s experience with Electronic Medical Records, or to arrange an interview, call Jackie Speckin, Media Contact, 847-540-9711; email: jlspeckin @ comcast.net.

Demanding Accountability: Youth Visit State Representatives to Prepare for BYV! Leadership Conference

A R T I C L E:

WASHINGTON, DC /Send2Press Newswire/ -- In an effort to leverage the historic youth voter turnout in 2004, a cadre of young activists across the country have identified issues important to them and are visiting state representatives to discuss how they will address those issues. The task is a pre-conference assignment for the Fifth Annual Black Youth Vote! (BYV!) Civic Leadership Conference (www.bigvote.org), Hip Hop Activism: Revolutionizing Black Power, April 7-9, at the National Education Association in Washington, DC.

"Learn by doing," charged Earl O'Neal, a board member of the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation (NCBCP), parent organization for BYV!. "You successfully registered and mobilized thousands of new voters across the country, now its time to hold those elected officials accountable."

Acting on the charge, Steven Waddy Atlanta BYV! coordinator, recently accompanied ten students from the Atlanta University Center to meet with Georgia committee chairs, local state representatives and senators.

"Just seeing the shock on the faces of legislators once they found out who requested to speak with them made many of the BYV! participants giddy with anticipation on how they could influence the next legislator on their list," said Waddy.

According to conference manager, Nancy Harvin, the assignments will be used as case studies during a series of workshops designed to train the youth to identify local issues that affect their community, equip them with the tools necessary to make change, and teach them to develop an action plan to execute locally and nationally.

Speakers include BET's Jeff Johnson aka "Uncle Jeff," Dr. Maya Rockeymore, author of "The Political Action Handbook: A How To Guide For The Hip Hop Generation," and members of congress, among others.

Sponsored by the NEA and State Farm Insurance, conference highlights include a Thursday morning legislative briefing on Capitol Hill, and a debate, "Is Hip Hop the Next Civil Rights Movement?," at the National Council of Negro Women Headquarters, that evening. Moderated by radio personality, Mark Thompson, this intergenerational dialogue will examine the impact of youth activism during the civil rights era and address the influence of hip hop on the political system.

"The Black youth electorate, many voting for the first time in 2004, felt the power of voting. The conference will prepare them to leverage that power and have an impact on their communities," says Melanie L. Campbell, executive director and CEO of the NCBCP.

Recently profiled in Black Enterprise Magazine (Feb. 05), BYV! is a coalition of organizations committed to increasing the political and civic engagement of Black youth under the age of 35. The NCBCP is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to increasing African American participation in civil society.

SALEM, MA /Send2Press Newswire/ -- A Doritos(R) Chip that amazingly resembles the Pope's Mitre (a.k.a. His Holiness' "really tall hat") was found in a bag of Doritos "Nacho Cheesier Doritos" this evening, according to The Chadwick family of Salem, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston.

After much deliberation amongst the family about what to do with the chip, it was decided that it would be unfair to not share it with the world. Following the recent trends or auctioning religious memorabilia, the chip was immediately ushered to a late-night photo session and then posted on the worldwide auction site, eBay.

The chip's online auction listing states, "The auction is for just this chip and the empty bag as the rest of the chips were consumed while creating this listing." Bidding had begun at $3.29, which the description says is "to cover the cost of a replacement bag."

The item is being listed purely for humorous reasons and the family is happy to have found this rarity at a time when the Pope's health continues to improve after his recent hospitalization.

The auction ends March 22 at 5pm PT. All trademarks acknowledged. Auction link subject to change.

Snow Hero of San Bernardinos Gifted With Joy of Skiing

Author: Native Voices Foundation (NVF)
Dateline: Fri, 11 Mar 2005

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif. /Send2Press Newswire/ -- 'All We Need Is a Miracle' played on the Snow Summit Lodge's loudspeaker when Bennie LeBeau (local Serrano-Eastern Shoshone), arrived for his ski lesson gift over the weekend. 'He was treated like a homecoming hero for leading the Big Bear Medicine Wheel Ceremony on November 15th, 2004, which helped restore the magnificent lake, trees, springs, and best snow in 35 years,' reported Olympic skier, Suzy Chaffee, co-chair of Native Voices Foundation (NVF).”

A R T I C L E:

BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif. /Send2Press Newswire/ -- "All We Need Is a Miracle" played on the Snow Summit Lodge's loudspeaker when Bennie LeBeau (local Serrano-Eastern Shoshone), arrived for his ski lesson gift over the weekend. "He was treated like a homecoming hero for leading the Big Bear Medicine Wheel Ceremony on November 15th, 2004, which helped restore the magnificent lake, trees, springs, and best snow in 35 years," reported Olympic skier, Suzy Chaffee, co-chair of Native Voices Foundation (NVF).

Caption: Olympic Skier Suzy Chaffee giving San Bernardino Mountains' Snow Hero, Bennie LeBeau (E. Shoshone), the gift of skiing, with the Big Bear community at Snow Summit. - Photo credit: Dean Kako, Snow Summit Ski School

Together the Big Bear community and Chaffee wanted to give back some of the joy that Bennie helped inspire this season. NVF had arranged for the skiers at December's Ski Dazzle Show to honor and learn more about some of Bennie's team of 100 from the Red, White, Black and Yellow Nations who prayed on the nine sacred sites surrounding the San Bernardinos. Together they reactivated the ley lines (electro-magnetic energy lines) and rebalanced the weather. (See www.nativevoices.org and teton-rainbows.com.)

But before the lesson Blue Thunder (LeBeau) invited Chaffee to join him in a gratitude ceremony for the return of harmony to the Bear Mountains. It was also a healing and blessing of the four elements: the earth, wind, fire (electromagnetic stones and soil) and snow/water kingdoms, and for any disturbances in cutting the trails, blasting rock, construction... He also led a clearing of negativity (accidents...) left while gliding down Mother Earth's slopes, which has been a great source of joy, harmony and health to people of all cultures, similar to how the "Grass Dancers" first cleared any dark energy or spirits before setting up camp... LeBeau then humbly asked permission to ski on the mountain that day, ending with a protection prayer for all, including himself.

Having a "friend" leave him on top of the mountain on his first and last ski day 20 years ago, LeBeau was a little nervous. But with the support of Chaffee (back from teaching Europe's progenies at French Princess Caroline Murat's Ski & Music Festival) and Ski School Director Wally Weber (did snowdances as a child) donating the tickets, gear, and instructor, LeBeau surprised everyone. After Chaffee put LeBeau through the basics, instructor Dean Kako tuned him up for the chairlift, fueled by sharing his belief in Dr. Emoto, a fellow Japanese on the NY Times Best Seller List for his book, "Messages from Water" (hado.net).

Emoto's tests verify the snow and rain blessings the Indian Nations have been miraculously sharing in: California, Oregon, Colorado, Utah, Washington, North/South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, New Mexico, Wisconsin, Nevada and Canada. As a result, Bear Mt Resorts are two of the 100 ski communities wanting to invite their Indian youth back to their ancestral lands to ski, snowboard and share their earth-honoring ceremonies. Given the scope of the Big Bear phenomena, and Bennie's ability to explain this ancient sacred geometry, many are looking at the Big Bear Community as a prototype for how we can all help our mountains rebirth their web of life.

Within two hours, Blue Thunder flashed a lightening smile as he carved beautiful linked "pizza pie" turns with Dean, ending with a double ski ballet (holding hands) with World Champion snowdancer, Suzy Chapstick. "Now I understand why skiing and boarding are the No.1 motivator for Indian youth - kids find alcohol, drugs and gangs boring by comparison, including exciting opportunities - jobs and leading this reconnection to Mother Earth," said LeBeau. "Our Vance Valdez (Cherokee) has a magical way with kids and does the most to make our Little Bear Ski School the most profitable division, along with Anita Webber (Navajo stockholder) who has an irresistible fun way of transforming the most challenging students," said Weber.

Next day, Steve Fengler, Director of Bear Mountain's Ski School and Todd Churchill (Cherokee), a supervisor of their Little Bear Camp, took Chaffee down the ultimate wild ride, "Geronimo," followed by getting some air with Brent Tregaskis, their GM. On the chairlifts Chaffee shared Blue Thunder's message: "that the community seriously needs to continue the healing ceremonies to be able to maintain this lifesaving precipitation." Chaffee applauded Chris Riddle, Snow Summit's marketing manager, on his leadership in wanting to welcome back tribal youth for this win-win. Even the staff of Dick Kun, owner of Bear Mtn. Resorts, was aware that in Hawaii nearly everyone invites a Kahuna do a blessing before cutting into Mother Earth.

Other community support for Bennie's ski gift came from the Star Gazers Inn & Observatory - of "KCAL's Nine on the Town TV Show" fame last week. Innkeeper, Doreen Wiggins hosted LeBeau and Chaffee, who quipped in amazement, "I bet this is the best B & B in the Galaxy!" She then stayed on to help welcome the Special Olympians at their touching Opening Ceremonies at Bear Mtn. "What a big-hearted community," proclaimed Chaffee, who is planning to start bringing the dancers honored at Ski Dazzle - the tiny totts and some of California's First Caretakers - to enjoy some wonderful spring skiing.

Members of the community wanting to support this best hope for the future of skiing, please call Suzy at: 970-404-0687. NVF is a 501(c)3, tax exempt partnership of U.S. Tribal leaders and Olympians, whose mission is to "create joyful unity through sports to help educate and heal Mother Earth for all our children." Thanks to the support US ski areas and European leaders, led by the Princess, Native youth may have a chance to compete as Sovereign Nations in future Olympics, including the newly formed Native American Ski Team.

Before starting Somebody Good, Inc., Mancini served for three years as the manager of the personnel referral service of a major bar association.

"People are often confused by the differences between temp agencies and referral services," co-president Geoff Hoff said. "Because of those differences, our personnel are more highly qualified, yet our fees are much lower. Maura will be focusing on making this distinction clearer in people's minds." Hoff explained that a temp agency can charge as much as $40.00/hour, much of which is commission, but Somebody Good charges $25.00/hour for legal secretaries and $14.00/hour for general office/receptionists, of which only $2.50 and $2.00, respectively, is commission. "Our secretaries earn more than other services and agencies, but because we take a smaller commission, the client pays substantially less," Hoff said.

The temp industry in general and the legal temp industry specifically has suffered over the last several years. Somebody Good, Inc., however, has not only survived but thrived by providing exemplary and individualized service. "We want to establish long term relationships," Mancini said. "We're not in it for the quick sale."

"I am very excited to be working with Somebody Good," Ms. Murphy-Barrosse said. "I believe in the quality of the services this company provides and I'm proud to be spreading the word."

Somebody Good, Inc. is affiliated with Joseph Coaler Productions.

Sharrow Group Helps Home Builders Assess the Cost of Turnover

A R T I C L E:

ROCHESTER, NY /Send2Press Newswire/ - Sharrow Group (www.sharrowgroup.com), a national executive search and consulting firm serving the home building industry, announces an innovative, online Turnover Cost Calculator to help builders understand the true impact of turnover on their bottom line. With home building turnover averaging 20 to 25% annually, successful companies know the competitive advantage of reducing its cost.

The Sharrow Group estimates the hard and soft costs of turnover are one to five times the annual salary of the position being replaced. While some turnover is inevitable and even desirable, these numbers merit careful attention. Losing proven staff costs far more than replacement expense; it reduces efficiency, impairs customer satisfaction and slows growth. The free Turnover Cost Calculator, available at www.sharrowgroup.com, makes it easy for builders to customize all assumptions to their own situation.

For example, according to Bill Carpitella, CEO of the Sharrow Group, "If the person who leaves was doing a good job, you have to calculate the loss of the high caliber of deliverables over time. When you bring on a new recruit, it typically takes a year before that person is functioning at a similar level of knowledge and output as the person they replaced."

How can a company manage turnover better? Carpitella suggests assessing the following:

* Where is turnover high? At the junior or senior level? In one area or many?

* What is the cycle? Is it new hires or veterans?

* What is the ratio of voluntary to involuntary turnover?

"The answers to these questions help identify a trend within the organization and that's the first step in fixing the problem," says Carpitella. He adds, "Companies need to develop a comprehensive approach that helps them formulate ways to not only attract but keep and grow valuable people." The biggest issues Sharrow Group sees with the builders seeking its help are good people leaving because they don't see the career path for themselves or lack effective leadership.

The Sharrow Group offers multi-dimensional capabilities, from executive recruitment to strategies to improve company profitability and align strategy, structure, process and people. The Sharrow Group is headquartered in Rochester, N.Y. with offices in Dallas, Texas; Detroit, Mich.; Fort Wayne, Ind.; Greenville, SC; Hilton Head, S.C.; Reno, Nev.; Philadelphia, Pa.; and Washington, DC.
